Sketch the flight. Understand the assumptions.

Calculate range, flight time and peak height for an ideal launch.

One launch. A clear trajectory.

Launch components (ideal motion)

Horizontal speedVertical speed

Level ground · constant gravity · no air resistance, wind or spin.

How it works

1

Set the launch

Enter the launch speed, angle, initial height and gravity.

2

Choose height and gravity

Adjust the initial height and gravity to match your situation.

3

Read the flight

See the trajectory and key results: range, flight time and peak height.

Questions, Answered.

Is air resistance included?

No. This educational model assumes constant gravity and no drag, wind or spin.

Is peak height measured from the ground?

Yes. The reported peak includes the initial height above ground.

What does initial height change?

It changes time to ground and therefore range. The launch speed and angle still determine the initial velocity components.

Can I launch straight up?

Yes. At 90° the horizontal component and horizontal range are zero.
